Soup Mix - Bacon Flavored Split Pea
Instructions:
In a pot, combine 5 cups water and 1-1/2 cups Bacon Flavored Split Pea Soup Mix and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and continue to cook for 35-45 minutes, stirring frequently so as not to scorch the soup. Less cooking time will yield more distinctive peas and longer cooking time will yield more of a puree. For a creamy finish temper heavy cream. Place ½ cup of heavy cream in a separate container, take a ladle full of the hot soup mix and stir into the heavy cream, add the tempered heavy cream to the soup pot and stir until incorporated. Add seasonings to taste and serve.
